Buffets of Picardy

The Picardy sideboard, also known as a traite or enfilade picarde, is a great classic of regional furniture. At the Atelier d’Ébénisterie, every sideboard is handmade and hand-carved, in keeping with Picardy tradition: solid wood, carefully crafted mouldings and carved decoration. Each piece is made to your chosen dimensions and to suit the spirit of your interior.

Moulded Picardy traite in cherry wood

This solid cherry Picardy sideboard follows the conventions of traditional furniture: scrolled feet, a carved lower rail, two doors and three moulded drawers. Its polished iron fittings give it an authentic character. Its ornamentation, full of character yet deliberately restrained, allows it to fit as well into a traditional interior as into a contemporary setting.

Picardy traite with marsh scene decoration in solid oak

Inspired by the marshland landscapes of the Somme valley, this large solid oak sideboard has five doors and two drawers. Its brass fittings complement the richness of the carvings: woodcocks, water hyacinths, rushes and water lilies, worked in relief so that each front becomes a scene from nature. It is a unique piece, designed to last and be handed down.
