Rose of Picardie

Rose of Picardy, sweetbriar is sculpted for over 150 years on a sideboard, manufactured in the Somme at Vignacourt. The designation of this piece of furniture is called " Vignacourt's sideboard." There are several models with different floral ornaments according to the origin of the manufacturing in the region. The rose above is the initial model of the sculpted rose on this sideboard.

Rose sculpture

This rose carved was created for the official opening of the Australians'ho use of Vignacourt in the attendance of Mr Snowdon, Australian Minister for Veterans' Affairs, Mr Wells, Australian Ambassador to France and several Australian and french citizens in April 2012. This blue mark on this supports a real impact of the bomb explosion during the war.
